The rooms were cozy and comfortable, with old world decoration and all the necessary amenities like heating, TV, and toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly and accommodating hosts. Plus, they offered a delicious breakfast with both cold and cooked options.- The hotel was conveniently located close to wineries, allowing easy access for wine tasting and exploring the beautiful surroundings.

We stayed at Melba Lodge for a friends wedding at Stones. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner's who promtly showed us around. We were very impressed when escorted into our airconditioned room, considering it was 38 degree outside. Room was spotless, great shower, clean, clean, clean. Loved the help yourself bar, complete with honesty system, just write down what you had. Breakfast consists of cereal and fresh fruit, and yes cooked eggs to order with all the trimmings. Highlight had to be the ever so generous offer of a lift to the wedding venue from the owner to save us a cab fare. Lovely place to stay, lovely owners, we'll be back...

Good standard accommodation in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast in a congenial environment. Good sized bedroom and en suite.

One of the bedside lamps didn't appear to be working. TV a bit small.

The location of the hotel was great, as it was easy to find and close to a main road. the hotel room was clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed. the hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which was a nice touch.

the room was quite small and lacked some basic amenities we expected for the price.

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast which made the tariff very good value for money

Im not really into "olde worlde' furnishings but that is just my personal taste. Heater very noisy so assume aircon in summer would be same.

This bed-and-breakfast is in a huge house. We stayed in the 1-BR cottage, which was not a cottage, but attached to the house. It had a completely outfitted kitchen and was very clean and comfortable. The owner met us, showed us around, then left us completely alone for the rest of our stay. There were no other guests. We had the run of the place but just used the pool table. The lodge advertised a breakfast to be served, but instead, the owner/manager stocked our fridge in the cottage with eggs, great orange juice, freshly ground coffee, ham, etc. The kitchen was fully equipped so this was like making breakfast at home.

We booked this place MAINLY because it advertises a spa bath in the cottage, as well as a hot tub (spa) in the lodge itself. When we got there, the owner/manager told us that there was no spa bath in the cottage (there was only a shower) and the hot tub in the main lodge was broken (plumbing issues). This was a big disappointment. We paid $50 the week before just to book a room with a spa bath at another hotel, so I initially felt like I was ripped off a bit. However, the great food in the fridge and the owner's trust in leaving us completely alone for the night almost made up for the lack of a hot tub -- almost. I feel like the hotel management needs to stop the misrepresentation of a spa bath in the cottage -- it is in the brochure as well as website. I also feel like I should get a refund of $50 for the lack of a working hot tub on the facilitiies.

Nestled in a lovely valley surrounded by picturesque scenery, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city life. With limited options in the area, it provides a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and unwind. the cozy rooms, though compact, are comfortable and well-equipped with modern amenities. the warm and accommodating hosts ensure a pleasant stay, attending to every request with a genuine smile. Enjoy a delightful breakfast, with a variety of cold and cooked options to choose from. Explore the nearby vineyards and indulge in the region's finest wines.

The room size may be a bit on the smaller side for some guests.

Melba Lodge turned out to be a venue for a Special Birthday. I would not have know about Melba Lodge if it weren't for that. I can't wait to get back for a weekend for myself and my partner and do the surrounding wineries. Absolutely love it from beginning to end, staff, service and accomodation was absolutely a perfect receipe for a get away.

Great location within walking distance of Yarra Glen & short drive to a lot of wineries. Everything was quite nice, staff, room & food. Room was a little on the small side and shower could have been cleaner but overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Shower grout could have been cleaned better
